EFNNMAThe European Forum of National Nursing and Midwifery Associations (EFNNMA) is the voice of nursing and midwifery within WHO European Region.Working in partnership and strategically with WHO and other key stakeholders we aim to influence health policy, improve the quality of health services and the health of people across the 53 Member States of the Region. We are passionate advocates of the central and unique contribution that Nurses and Midwives make to individual and population health and well-being across Europe and are committed to ensuring both professions are supported to deliver excellence in their practice. As the nature of care changes we believe that strengthening and developing the nursing and midwifery workforce through the provision of lifelong learning and research delivers excellence in public health and people-centered healthcare.

First official EFNNMA General Assembly

On April 30th, 2021 EFNNMA members met at the First official virtually held General Assembly to approve the new Statutes of the organization, the Internal regulations and hold electing of the newly established Governing bodies. The meeting was chaired by Mr Franz Wagner, CEO of the German Nurses Association and two members of the GA Board nominated by delegates - Roswitha Koch, representing Swiss Nurses Association and Milka Vasilieva, representing Bulgarian Nurses Association.

The new Statutes of the EFNNMA was approved unanimously by all delegates, the Internal regulations with amendments were also approved. In its further work EFNNMA will develop detailed documents to reflect specific areas of its functioning based on mutual agreement. The approved documents will soon be published on EFNNMA web site and sent out to all members. The GA decisions are to be signed and sent back to EFNNMA Secretariat.  Delegates also unanimously elected the newly established Governing bodies and supported all received nominations.
